Lorelai's 4 Month Photos

For Lorelai's 4 month photo shoot...we decided on two different themed photo sessions for this one--Her dad wanted "Game of Thrones" while I wanted "Beauty and the Beast" which means we just had to do both! Our beautiful little girl is growing up so quickly!

Baby Journal: 4 Months Old

Dear Lorelai,
Today you are 4 months old. When everyone told me that time would fly by, I didn't believe them...now...I do. I cannot believe you are already 4 months old. This month has been my absolute favorite. You smile like crazy now, and you give the absolute biggest smiles when you wake up in the morning and one of us comes to get you out of your crib. You also have grown out of your tummy issues, so I am no longer on the MSPI diet...and I'm thrilled. Not just for my sake, but because you are so happy now that your tummy doesn't hurt.

Don't get me wrong, you still cry... a lot....but those first 3 months you seemed to cry anytime you were awake. It was absolutely exhausting.

You're sleeping really well, sometimes 8 hours at a time at night. A "normal" night you wake up just once, which is letting us finally get some sleep. We had to stop swaddling you at the very end of your 3rd month, because we knew you were about to roll over...and guess what...y…

First Time Traveling with Baby

We learned A LOT about traveling with a baby on our latest trip, and although we are not experts in this field, sometimes it's nice to hear from someone who did this for the first time, because our mind is fresh to compare what things are like with and without kids. So here are a few things we learned on our latest trip!
Some hotels count any age child a person for rates, be aware of that when booking! I was not accustomed to changing the "children" drop down on the hotel bookings.

Call ahead and confirm the hotel has a crib (it's like a very basic pack-n-play where we stayed) and if it has a sheet. I've heard to bring your own sheet to sooth baby with a smell of home. We didn't and the first night she slept a record breaking 9.5 hrs straight. Yes, you could bring your own, but we did not need the extra stuff in our luggage.
When you book a hotel, mention you have a baby and should be placed somewhere not to bother other guests as much. It may help you have a…

Lorelai's First trip to the Northeast

In short, traveling with a 3 month old is...impossible to plan. I'm quite the planner, and despite my best efforts, my daughter takes true pleasure in making my life unpredictable. Traveling was no different! That being said, we an an amazing adventure this past week, and would not have changed one thing!
Not only did Lorelai have her first airplane ride, she visited 8 states during the course of a week, she spent her first night in a hotel, explored her first Airbnb (use this link for $40 off your first Airbnb), and saw some amazing tourist destinations! We started our adventure by flying into D.C. Well actually the adventure started on her first airplane ride. I will be creating a special post just for people like me who are googling like crazy about things you should know for your baby's first airplane ride...so I'll just sail over that to say the flight went superbly!
We quickly learned on this trip that we couldn't move quite as fast as we normally traveled, comp…

Baby Journal: 3 Months Old

Dear Lorelai,
You are already three months old, and I just can't believe it. Your dad realized that you've been in our lives for a almost year now, as we found out about you about a year ago. Your smile, is the absolute best thing in the world. You smile more at your dad than at your mom...but if you're dad isn't around you give me plenty of great smiles.
You're starting to notice a bottle and know that it means it's time to eat. You watch Lady sometimes, but your true love is the T.V. If we are on the couch with the T.V on, we have to flip you around to face us...or else we find you will stare at the T.V forever! You also are noticing faces more and more, which isn't always a good thing since you seem to have a lot of "stranger danger" instincts (which your mother didn't have enough of growing up).
We still haven't gotten you to giggle yet, but we assume it is any day now! You had a lot of rough sleeps this last month, but near the en…
