Can I just say... I love toddlerhood. Absolutely LOVE it. I love every single thing about having a toddler in my home. I love to rush home to see her smiling face, and I can't wait to see what new trick she has learned each day.
I want a permanent toddler in my house at all times.
Kevin and I agree we have almost no desire to have a child under the age of 1 in our house ever again.
Yes, I know every child is different. This is not a blanket statement about all kids and babies...just our first-time parent observation.
Toddlers are amazing.
First, they learn so much...and so incredibly fast. This is the stage where they start to repeat words you tell them, and all of a sudden can point to anything from "bubbles" to "apples" to "ducks" in a book and actually know the object in the book.
Since we have so many books on London, she can even point out "Big Ben" in each of her books. We have a million London books not just because we love London, but we found an illustrator Lorelai was so incredibly drawn to, at practically birth we bought every book...there were times that she would ONLY drink her bottle if she was reading that book. I'm serious.

But they are funny, are learning to be self reliant (like eating, playing, telling you what they want).
And at the same time, they still WANT to be around you. She wants to be held, have tea parties, brush your hair....it is so much fun.
There are some tears...but there are also long naps and sleeping through the night.
There is picky eating, but also excitement when he favorite song is played on our google.
(Also...one of her first words has been "google" which is humbling, terrifying, and also amazing at the same time.)
She teaches me so much. Patience, humility and a reminder that she loves me just the way I am. She loves me just as much during my bad hair days, or when I come home from a tough day at work...she doesn't care. She just loves me and wants me in her life.
My favorite part? Her laugh. When you get her laughing it is a huge, unembarrassed, loud belly laugh that is sound of pure joy.
