There are 3 new exhibits at the Omaha Children's museum that just opened! Kevin and Lorelai were able to check it out Tuesday, so I'm going to turn it over to Kevin for to tell you about it!
The largest of the three new exhibits was Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles exhibit. This whole area was highly interactive and had something for all age groups. It has all kinds of games and puzzles to solve, some involve team work, mind exercises, mazes and our favorite...target practice! They even have a toddler area just for smaller kids who are too young for the interactive stuff. No matter what age your kids are they will love all the things there are to explore not to mention getting to see the Ninja Turtle statues provided by Nickelodeon and Universal Studios! Our favorite part was the foam pizza shooter....which Lorelai almost got smacked in the head with one when we were playing!
Another of the new exhibits is Children’s China: Celebrating Culture, Character & Confucius. The thing I loved about this exhibit was how educational it was. Kids can learn to write in Chinese, cook authentic asian cuisine, and care for their own baby Panda (stuffed animal of course). This exhibit also teaches you all about Chinese lifestyle. You can take a walk through a house you would find in China and learn about some exercise equipment originating from China such as Table tennis! There are also lots of arts and craft stations along the way where you can make your own paper lantern and practice you Chinese writing abilities. This section is geared towards older kids but there is a small play area in the corner where younger kids can play as well. Kids can also take part in the daily Dragon parade through the museum. This is a great way to learn all about the culture in China!

Also their third exhibit is the S.T.E.A.M. Cave! This exhibit is actually a permanent part of the museum and has been brought to Omaha with the help of NASA! S.T.E.A.M (which stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math) is a very unique way for kids to learn while also having fun. One of the first things you see in the exhibit is a Newton's cradle made with bowling balls, Kids will love to try this. Some of the other things are the glowworm cavern where they can learn about bioluminescence, A plasma tube which explores electricity, and a tornado you can actually touch. This was definitely for older kids but it is all part of the science an technology area so there is plenty for younger kids to do as well.
Lorelai wants to give away a day pass for four to the museum as a giveaway to our readers! She loves the Children's museum so much, and is excited for your family to enjoy it as well! How do you win? Check out our facebook page and leave a comment on our post to win!
