There was just one thing in our new house I didn't totally love. It was the basement bathroom. It wasn't awful, just very...blah. So we decided to make it our project! We wanted to keep it pretty budget friendly, and really just make it more inviting. Structurally there was nothing wrong...but we wanted to love it just as much as the rest of the house!
Our finished bathroom:
This is a terrible bathroom to try and photograph, but its actually a great size. Of course I took almost zero photos of the bathroom before. Here is one (because I needed to know how many fixtures to buy for the vanity). Rather than replace the vanity, I decided to try painting it.
We decided to use a primer designed for painting without sanding to paint the vanity. The primer stuck great. After painting it with the color of our choice, and adding new fixtures that matched the brushed nickle faucet, I absolutely loved it!
The walls we painted a blue/gray to embrace the minty aqua theme I was going for.
The shelves used IKEA brackets, and we took planks of wood, stained them and attached the new shelves to the wall.
A few trinkets from around the house, a new bath rug, and a new soap dispenser tied everything together for us! Also shout out to my favorite artist Rifle Paper Co. who just happened to have the most amazing print perfect for our bathroom. Total cost for the project (paint, primer, shelves, and rug) was about $100. Worth every penny!
