This February Kevin and I will have been married for 5 years. Which also means he has been the #1 man in my life for 10 years. I have known him and been a couple for over 1/3 of my life, which is pretty cool. Looking back on the last few years, I'm reminded how much I've learned from him. Today I want to share a few things that stand out that Kevin has taught me:

Make nachos in layers. A layer of chips, then cheese, then chips and more cheese.
Its okay to be vulnerable and to really love someone that much
Long distance relationships stink. We fought more the last 2 years of dating when we were living in 2 different states than we ever have during marriage.
Making a human together is one of the most amazing things in the world.
Making a human together is one of the most difficult things in the world.
It's not okay to go through life not knowing the major topics on Yahoo news.
There are really people out there who don't listen to the radio.
It is amazing to have someone you share everything with.
Just because you are married doesn't mean you shouldn't care about what you look like in front of your spouse. Even though they love you, they still don't like to go out in public with you when you look like that.
Sometimes you need to slow down or you might miss your own life.
Meeting someone when you're 20 years old and being able to look back at how much the two of you changed is something really special that not everyone gets to experience.
Spiderman is owned by Sony, but Marvel gets to use him. On that note, it is not appropriate in a theater to lean over and ask why "cat woman" is a boy and in the Captain America movie.
Starting a marriage living on $20,000 a year is one of the best things that could have happened to us. Spending 2 years living on as little as possible gave us the opportunity to focus on what is important in life.
When you have a chance to eat at The Green Dragon in Hobbiton...you go for it. No matter what.
Finding someone who is compatible with your travel style can make or break traveling with your spouse.
Even though you would never kiss in public in the United States, there is something about traveling abroad that makes a little PDA so much fun.
