As an Omaha native, I still had to google what would be considered "West Omaha". We decided (thanks to Wikipedia) that anything West of 72nd street would be part of our West Omaha review. West Omaha has certainly grown, (basically running into Gretna, Elkhorn and Bennington now) it encompasses a lot of Omaha, but we've decided to hit just a few of our highlights for the West Omaha area.
The Makery is the coolest place to go for any crafty person. It is a local crafting studio, that provides you will all the goodies needed to make a craft! For someone who loves crafting, this place is amazing. Love succulents? Make a planter! Need a new door sign for your front door? Come paint one. We made a succulent planter together at The Makery as our 3rd anniversary date!
Pizzeria Davlo is a delicious deep dish style pizza. If you love a Chicago style pizza, but aren't in the mood to drive to Chicago, allow me to suggest the Meat Eaters Chicago Style deep dish!
Ready for some dessert? Le Petite Paris brings Europe to Nebraska. The staff may welcome you with "Bonjour" when you arrive, which makes me love it even more. The baker was born in France and also bakes at Le Voltaire just next door. Allow me to suggest the "Pain Au Chocolat" for a truly authentic Parisian pastry!
Not far from The Makery, is the cutest little local boutique shop called Bliss Boutique. Their trendy clothes are exactly on point, and the store boasts personalized service with affordable on-trend styles! If you are interested in visiting them, I highly suggest you stop by during the Market Weekend November 3rd and 4th to visit their neighbor, Fluff Interior Design, which will help you turn our home into something that is just as stylish as your wardrobe!
It wouldn't be a post about Omaha if we didn't highlight our favorite tea spot. The Tea Smith is by far one of our most frequented and favorite local places in Omaha. I cannot begin to tell you the number of dates that we went on here prior to Lorelai arriving. Kevin actually had a pass that had him going there every single day for tea. Whether you like hot, iced, or boba tea....it has everything you'd ever want.
Why are we highlighting local businesses within the community? Our neighbors, friends and family are all influenced...both directly and indirectly by small business success, and when we come together, we grow as one! First National Bank of Omaha is sponsoring this post, but all thoughts are mine.
