Dear Lorelai,
I was able to handle you turning 7 months, but 8 months is just TOO old. You are an absolute joy right now. When I get home from work, you turn and smile at me like I'm your favorite person in the world (then turn right back around and give the exact same smile to your dad...whom you've been with all day...so it takes a little bit of the fun out of it).
You're crawling! You have the daintiest little crawl and I love it. It is dainty but powerful...as you are getting into everything (and eating anything you can find on the ground...our roomba is running every day and you still find things!)
Food you love: avocados, prunes, pears, oatmeal and bananas.
Foods you don't love as much: Peas
The rest you are pretty impartial to.
Still no teeth for you! We are not looking forward to you teething.
You had a cold this month, it wasn't your first, but it was the first you've had in a number of months (you got one soon after you were born because I was sick when I was pregnant...and I think I passed it on to you). It was your first Tylenol experience (umm...can we say AMAZING. We gave this to you a couple nights in a row and it made you sleep...which made you get over your cold quickly! Yay!) We love our Nose Frida. (On that note, see the post I just started writing in the middle of this about things I believe every new parent should have on hand)
You're starting to really enjoy your cousin Avi, and hopefully you're learning to play with other kids now too. Unfortunately I think you're a little like me, where you prefer adults.
Squirming is your favorite. You like to crawl/climb/twist all over someone who is holding you. When I asked your dad who he thought you were going to grow up to be more like (myself or him) he thinks you're going to be like me. You certainly sleep like your dad, but the more your personality comes in....I expect you may have the itch to always be doing something like your mother!
You still have zero desire to mimic us...which means there is no way you'll be saying any words anytime soon, or waiving, or anything else that little kids may start to do at this age.
You do sign "milk" very well...but we've learned you use it anytime you want something. If you want more food, you sign "milk". We haven't been as good with sign language lately, but would like to get back to that. We are just crazy about you...and can't wait to see how much you change this next month!
