Dear Lorelai,
Ever since we found out about you our biggest question was what attributes of each of us would you have. You've been in our life for a little while now so here's what we've learned:
There is no question you have your daddy's eyes. And thankfully you got his beautiful long eyelashes.
You have my nose, and some days it appears you have your father's lips but I think we will be able to tell that more when you grow up.
You have my long fingers and unfortunately also your mother's thunder thighs. We love all your little rolls.
Your father and I both have attached earlobes and you got those too.
You have your father's laid-back demeanor when it comes to eating during the day, but at night when you get hungry you can really put it away just like your mother.
I want to apologize but you also got my extra long second toe. It won't really affect your life until you start wearing peep toe high heels or flip flops where your toe hangs over the edge.
You have longer fingers that appear pretty straight right now, so we think you got that from your mother. If they grow up to be crooked, then we know that comes from your dad.
You have the biggest smiles, which is uniquely you. And the most mischievous looks when you know its time to eat but you really want to play. You hold your head up so well, and even can support your own body weight "standing" if you're really angry. Tummy time is best in the mornings when you are extra happy.
Your nights and days are pretty much set, and for a little over a week you've been sleeping 10-12 hours at night to wake for one big feeding in the middle. We are learning to help you nap during the day. You nurse well, but still love it when dad gives you a bottle...which we do onnce or so a day so mom can have a little freedom.
You enjoy talking (cooing) in the mornings the best while looking out the window or laying in your crib with your sea toy.
We still have a few infant struggles right now, like some upset tummy issues that we are still working on. You also came down with some extreme eczema on top of baby acne, so we are slathering your face in ointment. You don't seem to mind it too much.
You had your first road trip at 5 weeks, and did pretty well in the car! You loved staying at Memore's house with the rest of dad's family. They gave you a lot of attention.
You hate to be touched and cuddled while you eat...which sometimes I can't help but do. You love to look out the window, especially while laying on your changing table. There are times where you are fussy and all you really want is to lay on your back alone for a while.
We love you so much, and can't believe how much you are already changing and growing!

I've researched it quite a bit and what seems to be the consensus is that it'd work itself out. Easy to say but hard to wait till that happens :(
