We all know I'm all about the photos. Long before I had Lorelai photos were still some of my most precious possessions, especially of our travels. Now my most important photos are of our little girl, because I know she is going to grow up way too fast.
I hear of so many parents losing, breaking or wiping a phone by accident and losing years worth of photos of their children. That makes me so sad, as I know it has to be miserable. I want to tell you, it CAN be prevented! There are very inexpensive ways to back-up your photos, here is what I suggest:

1. Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime can be used for a bunch of different things, and you may already have it. The one thing I think is the most valuable is that when you purchase prime, you get UNLIMITED photo storage with it. It is extremely low maintenance too, as once you have prime just download their amazon photo app and set it to automatically sync whenever you're on wifi. That means my photos are syncing basically anytime I'm at home.
2. Transfer to a Computer. If you have a lot of space on a computer, I suggest starting here as your second backup. Plug in your device (or do one of those hi-tech bluetooth transfers) once a month (or as often as you feel necessary) as your second backup.
3. External Hard drive. Our computer is almost always dealing with large amounts of data since one of us is a graphic designer and the other is a photographer, so we almost always transfer things to external drives on a regular basis. I remember back when I got my first external drive, it was in high school and it was a 250gb drive for around $150. Now that sounds crazy expensive because they are dirt cheap now. For example every year I buy a 3TB (that is 3,000GB) drive for around $100 every year. Yes, it is still $100 but that could last you a LONG time when it comes to photo storage of phone photos. Here is a link to a great one I've used 3TB or you can get 1TB for about $60. Plus, I bet if you asked any parent if they could pay $100 and get their photos back from their lost phone, they would do it in a heartbeat.
Between those 3 places, you're bound to not have EVERYTHING crash or be destroyed at once. If one fails, make sure to go through the process again to get another backup up and going...that way you'll hopefully never lose photos again!
